Congress has the opportunity to address gaps in disaster response through the Community Mental Wellness and Resilience Act (CMWRA). This bipartisan legislation would establish federal funding for community-based mental health programs, science-backed and trauma-informed disaster response, and resilience-building initiatives that recognize the full scope of impact.
