TOOLKIT: Ask Your Congressperson to Join the U.S. House Trauma-Informed Care Caucus

Congressional caucuses bring together Members of Congress around shared issues.

The House Trauma-Informed Care Caucus unites U.S. Representatives committed to embedding trauma-informed approaches across federal legislation and programs.

While several federal agencies (e.g., Health and Human Services, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Labor) have utilized trauma-informed practices, this caucus ensures the full House understands their value and importance.

The caucus strengthens support for policies that help individuals, families, and communities heal and thrive:

  • Shares evidence and research on preventing trauma and building resilience

  • Hosts briefings with expert speakers

  • Analyzes trauma-related legislation

  • Champions trauma-informed policies across all relevant federal programs

Join our effort to recruit more representatives to this bipartisan caucus!

Our new toolkit offers step-by-step instructions on engagement, including talking points, meeting tips, and sample copy for emails, phone calls, newsletters, emails to your network, and website:
