MENTAL WELLNESS & TRANSFORMATIONAL RESILIENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY

THE CHALLENGE:
Communities are being hit from multiple directions at once. Extreme weather disasters are increasing. Cuts to disaster response, healthcare, and other vital services are leaving people without a safety net. Food, water, and housing shortages are growing. Jobs and income are at risk. These overlapping stressors are taking a serious toll on mental, emotional, and physical health — and because they interact with each other, it's often hard to trace a single cause.
THE SOLUTION:
A public health approach is needed to strengthen everyone's capacity for mental wellness and transformational resilience. Transformational Resilience Coordinating Networks (TRCNs) are local, community-led coalitions that implement strategies to help all residents stay socially, emotionally, and behaviorally healthy during persistent adversities. They also help residents use hardship as a catalyst for collective action and new sources of meaning, purpose, and hope.
