The Service to the Citizen Awards were established by Martha Dorris, Founder of the Public Service Leadership Academy, to honor and celebrate public servants on the front lines who often go unrecognized despite their transformative impact on the lives of those they serve. The awards fulfill Dorris's vision of recognizing individuals who change lives through their dedication to public service.
Recipients of the Service to the Citizen Award must demonstrate that they have gone above and beyond in their commitment to delivering services that directly impact citizens' lives or provide essential internal services that support broader public benefit. Award recipients represent federal, state, and local government, as well as industry professionals who exemplify exceptional dedication to public service.
The team’s recognition reflects Dr. Baldwin’s extensive expertise, particularly through her previous leadership of the Disaster Life Experience Portfolio and the Federal Interagency Task Force for Trauma-informed Care. Her work has consistently focused on improving services for communities impacted by natural and man-made disasters—expertise that directly informed the Customer Experience Team's award-winning disaster recovery initiatives.
This honor underscores the importance of recognizing public servants who work tirelessly to create more responsive, compassionate systems that serve all members of our communities. Dr. Baldwin's dedication to trauma-informed approaches in disaster recovery demonstrates how these principles can be integrated into critical government services during times when communities are most vulnerable.
CTIPP congratulates Dr. Baldwin and the entire Customer Experience Team for their outstanding service!
