Laura is CTIPP’s Director of Communications and Outreach and is responsible for strategic internal and external communications across all platforms and channels, including messaging, earned media, websites, collateral materials, stakeholder engagement, and social media.

Laura has over 20 years of experience solving problems, crafting compelling stories, and developing impactful strategies to advance an organization's vision and mission. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Strategic Communications and Communications Strategist at the California Medical Association, representing nearly 50,000 physicians across all modes of practice and specialty. She currently lives in the Sierra Foothills of California with her family and three adopted mutts. In her (limited, lol) spare time, Laura enjoys spending time outdoors, yoga, gardening, and meditation.

  • What brings you to this work? I've seen what the power of healing can do in my own life and want to help others find their path. Jim Morrison said, "There can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first." That's been my experience, as well, and I'm proud to help support the trauma-informed movement.

  • What helps you maintain a balanced life? Walks in nature (with zero cell service) and playing with/reading to my son.

  • Top 3 podcasts or books: Too many podcasts to name - according to my Spotify app, I listened to nearly 90 hours worth in 2021! Lately I've been enjoying anything by Ram Dass or on the Enneagram. I have the "The Immortality Key: The Secret History Of The Religion With No Name" on my dresser and can't wait to crack the spine.
